Keyword research means finding the exact words and phrases your potential audience types into Google, then choosing which ones to target based on search intent, volume and difficulty. Start by listing topics you know well, use free tools like Google Keyword Planner, Google Trends and Google's own autocomplete/'People also ask' to find real phrases, then prioritise long-tail keywords (longer, more specific phrases) since they're easier to rank for as a beginner and often convert better.
A keyword with high search volume but the wrong intent won't convert. Before targeting any keyword, check what's already ranking on page one — if it's all product pages and you're writing a blog post (or vice versa), Google has already told you what searchers expect, and fighting that mismatch rarely works.
Practise keyword research on real websites, not just exercises. Our SEO internship is paid (₹3,000–₹7,000/month), runs 120 days, and leads to a full-time role up to ₹2.5 LPA for top performers.
